Dr. Wright was born and raised in Upstate New York.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colby College, where he was elected into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Biology.  Following his undergraduate education, Dr. Wright returned to New York to attend medical school at the University at Buffalo where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center before furthering his subspecialty training in hand and upper extremity surgery through a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.  There, he learned advanced techniques in hand and wrist reconstruction, peripheral nerve reconstruction and transfer, upper extremity joint replacement, and fracture care.  Throughout his education, Dr. Wright has authored several papers and presentations on diseases affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.  He has a particular interest in care of the complete upper extremity, treating patients with arthritis of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, peripheral nerve compression, tendon-ligament injuries, fractures, rotator cuff tears, and more.

Dr. Wright is excited to serve the community of Maine.  When not caring for patients, you will find him exploring the outdoors with his wife and children, riding his bike, or out on skis.
